Pharmaxo’s Managing to Motivate programme receives ILM assured status for the second year in a row

At Pharmaxo, we know that strong, confident managers play an important role in creating a positive employee experience, building high-performing teams, and supporting people to develop in their careers.

That’s why our People and Culture team developed Managing to Motivate, Pharmaxo’s in-house manager development programme, designed to give current and aspiring managers the practical skills, behaviours and confidence to lead well.

We’re pleased to share that the programme has been reaccredited to achieve “ILM Assured” status for the second year in a row, reflecting its continued quality and alignment with recognised management development standards.

Building confidence at every stage of management

Managing to Motivate follows the full employee lifecycle and helps managers develop the skills they need across key areas of people leadership, from building strong foundations through to supporting performance, wellbeing and effective communication.

The programme is designed to be practical, skills-based and grounded in everyday management realities. Through scenarios, activities and discussion, delegates can build confidence in a supportive environment before applying their learning in real-life situations.

It also helps to create consistency across Pharmaxo, giving managers a shared understanding of best practice and the expectations that support our teams and culture.

A programme shaped around real impact

Since launch, Pharmaxo has delivered eight cohorts of Managing to Motivate, welcoming more than 80 delegates onto the programme.

Feedback from participants has been extremely positive:

  • 100% of delegates reported that the programme met or exceeded their expectations

  • 100% reported increased confidence in three or more areas of management skills or knowledge

  • 56% reported increased confidence in every area of management skills or knowledge

Delegates also reported strong improvements in key areas including managing concerns, understanding the Equality Act, and conducting difficult conversations.

Investing in managers, strengthening our future

The success of Managing to Motivate means the programme will now continue to roll out to managers across Pharmaxo’s UK footprint. Through talent management and succession planning, places are also being offered to aspiring managers, helping colleagues prepare for future leadership opportunities.

The team is also developing a wider leadership framework for the UK, designed to support and empower current and future leaders across the business.
